Two pipeline protesters occupied an enormous piece of Kinder Morgan equipment in Delta Thursday morning.

The tunnel boring machine was making its option to Burnaby Mountain the place it is going to assist drill a path for the Trans Mountain pipeline enlargement. Two ladies have scaled the machine and say they are going to be there so long as it takes.

Police are presently on scene.

The demonstrators are with Greenpeace who says it tracked the drill all the way in which from Germany to the Delta facility.

This follows a variety of different protests in opposition to the pipeline enlargement over the previous few months.

Kinder Morgan has introduced it’s suspending all non-essential spending on the enlargement of the Trans Mountain pipeline, basically placing a halt to the venture.

Protests are going to proceed in opposition to the pipeline enlargement till Kinder Morgan abandons it altogether, stated Karen Mahon, marketing campaign director with Stand.earth.

“Kinder Morgan made this announcement that they were suspending essential spending but in fact, there is work continuing and people are committed to do whatever it takes to stop this pipeline,” she advised Global News.

Burnaby RCMP have made virtually 200 arrests in reference to anti-pipeline demonstrations since early March. Most have been arrested for breaching a court-ordered injunction that stated protesters can’t block entry to the power.
