Parker said she was “disappointed” about the news herself.
“We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story,” she said. “It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”
Willie Garson, who is known for playing Stanford Blatch in the series, tweeted about Parker’s response.

“And that, is that. And sadly, the reasons are true. Period…… Sarah Jessica Parker: No ‘Sex and the City 3,’” Garson wrote.
Fans of the series have been waiting for a new movie since Sex and the City 2 was released in 2010.
After Parker’s Extra interview surfaced, fans took to Twitter to vent about the decision.

Vanity Fair addressed some rumours swirling around about the film, suggesting that Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha Jones in the series, was the holdout after the other three leads had already signed on.
“[T]hat’s why we have the rumor mill, which recently churned out one possible theory: that co-star Kim Cattrall, who plays the lascivious Samantha Jones, was holding out, per DailyMailTV, refusing to sign on for another sequel unless studio Warner Bros. pledged to develop other movie projects she was working on,” the story read.
Cattrall was quick to deny the rumours on Twitter.

The series revolved around Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, and her group of girlfriends who lived in New York City.
