Investigation into Russian interference: a close friend of Trump recuses himself
A close friend of US President Donald Trump at Congress, Devin Nunes, announced on Thursday that he was recusing a parliamentary inquiry into Russia's interference in the US presidential election after being accused of politicizing the investigation .
"I think it is in the best interests of the Intelligence Committee of the House of Representatives and Congress that (the Republican) Mike Conaway temporarily takes charge of the commission's inquiry into Russia, Writes in a statement Devin Nunes, who chairs this commission.
He was accused by the Democrats of seeking to divert the attention of the commission on alleged leaks targeting the White House.
